Mindful Communication Group is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide outpatient services at our Newport News, Virginia office. This opportunity is open to clinicians with experience working with pediatric clients, adult clients, or both.

This 1099 independent-contractor role is ideal for an OT who values flexibility, professional autonomy, collaboration, and individualized, client-centered care within a growing multidisciplinary practice.

What You’ll Do

• Evaluate and treat pediatric and/or adult clients based on your clinical experience and areas of competence

• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized, functional treatment plans

• Provide evidence-based interventions to support participation and independence in meaningful daily activities

• Monitor client progress and modify treatment recommendations as appropriate

• Provide client, parent, and caregiver education and home recommendations as appropriate

• Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathology and Mental Health clinicians when appropriate

• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in MCG's electronic health record

Pediatric: Fine motor and visual-motor skills • Sensory processing and regulation • Motor planning and coordination • Handwriting • Self-care/ADLs • Developmental skills • Participation in home, school, and community activities

Adult: ADLs/IADLs • Upper-extremity function and coordination • Functional cognition and executive functioning • Neurological rehabilitation • Adaptive and compensatory strategies • Functional independence following illness, injury, or changes in ability

What We’re Looking For

• Current Virginia Occupational Therapist license

• Graduate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

• Experience or clinical interest in providing outpatient OT services to pediatric clients, adult clients, or both

• Strong clinical reasoning and individualized treatment-planning skills

• Strong communication, documentation, organization, and collaboration skills

• Ability to provide in-person services at our Newport News office

• Professional liability insurance and ability to complete MCG's onboarding and credentialing requirements
