Mindful Communication Group is seeking Speech-Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists to provide Early Intervention services to infants and toddlers from birth to age 3 through the Infant & Toddler Connection of Chesapeake.

This 1099 independent-contractor opportunity is ideal for clinicians who enjoy working with young children and families, providing services in natural environments, coaching caregivers, and incorporating therapeutic strategies into everyday routines.

Position Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Setting: Community-Based Early Intervention
Population: Birth–3
Disciplines: Speech-Language Pathology & Occupational Therapy

  • Provide Early Intervention services in children's natural environments, including homes, childcare settings, and other community locations

  • Provide developmentally appropriate, family-centered intervention for children from birth to age 3

  • Develop and provide services consistent with each child's Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)

  • Coach parents and caregivers on strategies that can be incorporated into everyday activities and routines

  • Collaborate with service coordinators, families, and other members of the child's Early Intervention team

  • Complete required clinical and Early Intervention documentation accurately and within established timelines

  • Maintain communication with MCG regarding scheduling, documentation, caseload needs, and other service-related matters

  • Travel to assigned Early Intervention visits within Chesapeake

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Active Virginia license as a Speech-Language Pathologist or Occupational Therapist

  • Appropriate professional degree and credentials required for the clinician's discipline

  • Eligibility to provide Virginia Part C Early Intervention services

  • Early Intervention certification/credentialing or willingness to complete required onboarding and certification

  • Professional liability insurance

  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to clients' natural environments within Chesapeake

  • Ability to complete required documentation accurately and on time

  • Strong communication, organization, and independent time-management skills

Preferred

  • Previous Early Intervention, pediatric, home-based, or community-based clinical experience

  • Experience with caregiver coaching and family-centered intervention

  • Familiarity with IFSPs and interdisciplinary Early Intervention services
