Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – Part-Time to Full-Time

Mindful Communication Group (MCG) is a therapist-owned, multidisciplinary private practice. We are seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support the growth of our ABA program serving pediatric clients across the Hampton Roads region of Virginia.

This role is ideal for a BCBA who values clinical quality, clear expectations, and sustainable caseloads, and who is interested in playing a foundational role in ABA services within a clinician-led organization.

Job Type

  • Open to W-2 employee or 1099 contractor (based on availability and role fit)

  • Part-time role with hours increasing as the ABA caseload grows

Compensation

  • W-2: Commensurate with experience, starting at $75/hour

  • 1099 contractor: Commensurate with experience, starting at $90/hour

  • Caseload growth incentives/bonuses available as the program expands

Service Model

  • Primarily home-based ABA services

  • Clinic-based services will be introduced as programming expands

  • Pediatric population

(Local travel required within the Hampton Roads area.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations and patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment strategies

  • Develop, implement, and oversee individualized treatment plans aligned with best practices in Applied Behavior Analysis and behavioral health

  • Collect, analyze, and document clinical data to monitor client progress and adjust interventions as needed

  • Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure cohesive and effective care delivery

  • Participate in intake processes for new clients, including initial assessments and development of personalized care plans

  • Provide parent and caregiver training, education, and ongoing collaboration

  • Maintain accurate medical records, ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, and document all patient interactions clearly within medical documentation systems

  • Support RBT supervision and staff training as the ABA program grows (not required at hire)

Caseload Expectations

  • Initial caseload: Approximately 3–6 clients

  • Target caseload at stability: 7–10 clients

You will serve as a foundational clinical provider in the launch of MCG’s ABA services. As the program grows, there will be opportunities to take on increased supervision or leadership responsibilities, based on program needs and mutual interest.

Qualifications

  • Active BCBA certification

  • Virginia LBA or eligibility for licensure in Virginia

  • Demonstrated experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder

  • Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy techniques, and data collection methods

  • Experience conducting patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and individualized treatment planning

  • Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation standards, including HIPAA compliance

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities or special education needs

  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, caregivers, team members, and external providers

  • 1+ year of BCBA experience preferred; new graduates welcome to apply
